# .ai passes one million registered domains

January 28, 2026 · Summary of an article by Andrew Allemann, Domain Name Wire

Anguilla's government announced that .ai had passed one million registrations. A year earlier the official count was 598,007, so the namespace grew by roughly two-thirds in twelve months.

Identity Digital keeps about 10% of revenue and the rest goes to the government, which says the money funds airport and road projects, tax relief and health services.
